The building's history has been preserved wherever possible, such as in the lounge where the cows once mooed.

Awake to birdsong, feeling rejuvenated and head to the deliciously fresh breakfast buffet, available daily from 08:30 until 10:30. You can enjoy a wonderful dinner in Restaurant WeidumerHout. The most delicious dishes are conjured up with a great love and attention for the produce and ingredients. The kitchen is open from Monday to Friday between 18:00 and 20:15. Dinner is only possible upon reservation.

Hotel & Restaurant WeidumerHout is the ideal base if you're looking to escape the everyday hustle and bustle. Put on your walking boots or hop on your bike and venture out into the countryside. The surroundings are perfect for a splendid walk or endless bike ride through the characteristic Dutch landscape. The hotel is situated near the river Zwette, which is part of the famous Dutch eleven cities route. You'll need to be very lucky to skate this route but it's also possible to bike it! Trips to Sneek, Franeker and of course Leeuwarden are easy to undertake from here. Leeuwarden is only 6 kilometres from the estate and a lovely place to spend an afternoon. Go shopping, visit the Fries Museum, the Saint Boniface church and the Prinsentuin.
