Hotel Paal 8 is beautifully situated in the dunes. A stunning setting with one of the Netherlands' widest beaches at your feet. What's more, the mainland's coastline is visible on clear days. Enjoy a splendid sea view to the north of the hotel and a view of the dunes in all other directions. The island of Terschelling is ideal for cyclists, and the cycling paths are very well maintained. Bikes are available to hire at the hotel.

A breakfast buffet is served daily from 08:00 until 10:00. At restaurant De Grië aan Zee, you can enjoy a great view of the dunes whilst sampling the most delicious of dishes. The menu changes with the season, and dishes are prepared using fresh, daily produce. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner. On sunny days, you can relax on the sheltered outdoor terrace.

The island of Terschelling consists largely of natural dune landscape. Many bird species breed in the De Boschplaat nature reserve in the east of the island. The lively village of West-Terschelling is a 20-minute bike ride from the hotel. Here you can find numerous shops, restaurants and eateries. The harbour lies in a natural bay where you'll also encounter the Netherlands' oldest lighthouse, De Brandaris.

Upon display of your hotel confirmation, you can take the bus (no. 2) from the harbour to the hotel, free of charge. This also applies to the return journey on the day of departure.Please note that the bus company operates a limited service.
