Winschoten has a charming, old town centre with numerous attractions. Stroll through the Rosarium, a garden in a city park with a wonderful variety of roses in summer. Or spend the day by the water. The Westerwoldse Aa and the Winschoterdiep are great for fishing, canoeing, sailing or windsurfing. Wedderbergen and the Midwolderbos are great to visit if you love walking. A 30-minute train or car journey will take you from Winschoten to the city of Groningen, where you can visit the Groninger Museum and the city's iconic Martini Tower. A day at the spa is also an option, it's only a 15-minute drive from the hotel to the Fontana spa complex in Nieuwenschans.
