Staying with a farmer, but just that little bit different; Restinn Andijk offers its guests extensive hotel facilities as well as good beds. The apartments lie separate from one another, in the middle of the countryside. The form and interior of the apartments are surprising and were exclusively designed by the architect Henri Leloup from Warder. Also unsual is the fact that Restinn's hostess comes to serve a tasty breakfast at the apartment each morning.

Breakfast is served daily in your apartment by the hostess. You can also order a packed lunch to take with you (at an additional charge). You won't even need to leave your apartment to enjoy a delicious dinner. The mini-bar offers guests various drinks, snacks and sweets.Interesting fact: renowned Dutch potatoe varieties are cultivated in the farm's vicinity including the Opperdoezer and the Andijker Muizen.

Not far from the farm lies Andijk, a real West-Frisian village with ribbon development. The Dutch Reformed church is also certainly worth visiting, as is the Polder Museum located directly on the 'Omringdijk' dyke. This museum displays permanent exhibitions, including information about 5,000 years of living and working in the Grootslag polder. A lovely bicycle ride can be taken from the dyke to the charming and picturesque town of Enkhuizen; definitely worth a visit. You can go for a swim at the Streekbos recreation centre, or hire a canoe at Kanoverhuur Elf.

In the vicinity of the apartments lies the Zanten family's dairy business with 40 cows and a flock of sheep. The farm is situated on a 20-hecate estate, part of which is used to cultivate tulips that provide a sight for sore eyes in the spring. And if it's possible, the family are more than happy to offer guests a tour of the farm. The surroundings of Andijk are perfect for a long walk or cycling trip.
