Baarlo is often dubbed Castle Village owing to its impressive number of castles, four! One of which is Château De Raay, dating from the 13th century. This castle has been renovated over the centuries, but many of its original features have been preserved, including the centuries-old natural stone floors. Located next to the hotel is the Art Center de Raay, where art is displayed in an attractive setting. The Art Center's gallery extends into the hotel rooms, where there is also plenty to see.

A breakfast buffet is served from 07:00 until 10:00 on weekdays, and from 08:00 until 10:30 at weekends. The restaurant of Château De Raay is situated in the glass winter garden, an impressive conservatory connecting the castle to the other buildings. Restaurant De Wintertuin serves regional cuisine. The castle's vaults house a wonderful wine bar, where you can enjoy a delicious glass of wine in an intimate setting. Restaurant De Tuin van de Baroness is closed on Sundays

Baarlo is less than 10 kilometres from Venlo, near the German border. These woody surroundings have plenty to offer. You'll find the thermal baths in nearby Arcen, also home to beautiful castle gardens on a centuries-old estate. Culture vultures will enjoy visiting Venlo with its charming streets, lovely shopping areas and the Limburgs Museum. This museum has an extensive archaeology collection. Plus, Hotel Sandton Château De Raay is just a stone's throw from the Heldense Woods.

The castle's surroundings ensure a pleasant atmosphere for meetings and functions.
