There is lots to experience in and around the cosy, family-run hotel on the Zeeland coast. The hospitable Hotel De Schelde lies just 30 m from the dunes, the beach and the sea. The large outdoor terrace offers you a view of the promenade. During warm weather, you can head straight to the beach with your towel in hand to enjoy the sun and the sea. On the beach you can enjoy walks, horse riding, building sandcastles, kiting or simply a bit of paddling.

An elaborate breakfast is served in the hotel's restaurant every morning from 08:00 to 10:00. The à la carte menu restaurant Jean d'Haut has an excellent menu for lunch and dinner. Lunch is served from 12:00, and dinner is served until 21:00. The kitchen mainly serves dishes from the Flemish/French cuisine. Delicious specialities arise from this kitchen, for example regional dishes such as Flemish stew and freshly cooked sole from the North Sea. You can sit on the large sun terrace during warm weather, enjoying a tasty snack or drink.

The largest Belgian nature reserve including the Verdronken Zwarte Polder and the Zwin lies close to Hotel De Schelde Cadzand. This area of at least 160 hectares is an extremely varied landscape with salty marshes, mud flats and old polders. Various species of birds breed on the Zwin. You can search for ancient shark teeth on the beach of Zwingeul, and it is possible to walk across the beach to Knokke during low tide. Fishing is permitted in several areas of the reservation, and there are beautiful walking routes such as the Panoramaroute and the Uilenspiegelroute. Surfing and sailing classes are available at the beach pavilions.

- The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. You can check in at reception until 22:00. Should you be arriving at a later time, it is possible to report to the bar until 02:00 at the latest.- The hotel does not have a lift.
