Hotel details:
Hotel de Posthoorn is located in the centre of the Medieval city of Dokkum. The hotel is established in a listed canalside building. De Posthoorn is a friendly family-run hotel offering Single, Double and Triple Rooms. All rooms come with an en-suite bathroom with a toilet and a bath or shower. The rooms also feature a television and WiFi. In the summer, guests can soak up the sun on one of the hotel's two outdoor terraces. One of which is heated in the evenings and on chilly days.
A breakfast buffet is available in the morning between 07:00 and 10:00. You can enjoy a delicious lunch and dinner in the atmospheric restaurant or in the café. The à la carte restaurant regularly updates its menu. The little restaurant 'O Live' is also nearby and serves Mediterranean dishes in the summer months.
Hotel De Posthoorn lies in the centre of Dokkum. This Frisian city is known as the place where Saint Boniface - one of the most important missionaries and church reformers of the Frankish Empire - was murdered in the year 754. An event which made Dokkum a place of pilgrimage. Dokkum is also one of the cities on the famous ice-skating Elfstedentocht tour (11 cities tour), and boasts various historic buildings and churches. The 16th century city walls are still in their original state, and known as the 'bulwarks'. And numerous atmospheric restaurants, shops and cafés can be found in the centre.

Ian- Friendly helpful staff
- Slightly limited breakfast selection No internet or phone in room. Refurbished room needs some attention to details - new tv has too short power lead, so blocks desk and mirror

Bill P- A comfortable, clean hotel with a friendly (even by dutch standards) staff; good breakfast; picturesque town in northern Netherlands where you can enjoy the dutch lifestyle without the tourist-yness and lawlessness of amsterdam
- internet service was difficult enough to figure out that we decided to not use it

Jean-Luc Frerotte- Very pleasant hotel, I will recommend it to friends.
- traffic of cars and motorbikes in the evening just along the terrasse (many people turning in the city just to show their nice cars and faces...). Some clients may like it
5.4
Christian Jung- Location is the best in Dokkum
- Beds too soft, no possibility to change room (all beds said to be equal). Breakfast buffet ran out of butter on Whitsuntide-Sunday, not replaced during the whole stay, which lasted till Wednesday (we stayed a day longer). The window of our room could not be properly opended and was generally hard to operate.

PRUVOST Lucie- very nice place, and very nice hotel... kind and pleasant people.

A.White- Excellent location in the town for walking, exploring and shops.
- Car parking is difficult, although I understand the position. The free pass to the public parking we appreciated, but it is quite far away. In the UK people would not dare park overnight in such a cark park because of security. We would have happily paid extra for closer, more secure car parking.
