De Posthoorn is a friendly family-run hotel offering Single, Double and Triple Rooms. All rooms come with an en-suite bathroom with a toilet and a bath or shower. This Frisian city is known as the place where Saint Boniface - one of the most important missionaries and church reformers of the Frankish Empire - was murdered in the year 754. An event which made Dokkum a place of pilgrimage. Dokkum is also one of the cities on the famous ice-skating Elfstedentocht tour (11 cities tour), and boasts various historic buildings and churches. The 16th century city walls are still in their original state, and known as the 'bulwarks'. And numerous atmospheric restaurants, shops and cafés can be found in the centre.
