Hotel De Swarte Ruijter is located on the edge of the 'Holterberg', a scenic area with heath and woods. The area is part of the nature reserve 'De Sallandse Heuvelrug'. From the hotel you can access the woods via a hiking trail along the hotel's herb garden. At the reception you can rent a bicycle and order a picnic basket. Guests can store their own bikes in the lockable bicycle shed.
In the hotel there is a restaurant and a grand café. It is established in a thatched building. The contemporary interior design combines surprisingly well with the historic exterior. The ten suites are situated on the ground floor in the adjacent cottages. In the tastefully decorated suites you will find luxurious amenities, such as a bath and a shower, toilet, hair dryer, television, telephone, WiFi, and a comfortable seating and dining area. Furthermore every suite has French windows that open onto the private terrace.

You can also easily reach the Hanseatic cities of Deventer and Zutphen.
