Hotel Courage is a small-scaled hotel with a homely atmosphere. It is located at the foot of the Valkhof, the place where Charlemagne built a fortress, the remains of which can still be seen today. From the hotel you will have a wonderful view of the Waal and the boats passing by.
In the breakfast area guests can enjoy breakfast. The hotel has a bar where guests can have a nice drink. For dinner there are many restaurants to choose from along the Waal river, or in the city centre.
Hotel Courage can be found at a magnificent location along the river Waal Its is close to the 'Valkhof,' where you can walk past the various ruins of the ancient fortress of Charlemagne. Nijmegen is a lively university city with great options for a night on the town. Besides that, the city has many historic attractions, since it was founded more than 2000 years ago. This makes it the oldest city in the Netherlands.
Guests of the hotel can access the adjacent national bicycle museum 'Velorama' at a reduced rate. About 250 antique bikes can be admired at the museum. And when you feel like cycling yourself, you can rent a modern bike at the reception and cycle along the Via Romana for example. This route will take you to some of the most interesting sites in the surroundings.

“Good hotel and breakfast”
- Good location, comfortable bed, en-suite bathroom big enough, good view
- Smell of sewage in the bathroom before we turned the shower on ourselves. Room is quite sparse, doesn t look inviting, but you re only there to sleep, so it s ok. I probably wouldn t pay full price to stay here.

- Great location and good breakfast included in the price. The staff is friendly and helpful.
- Nothing comes to mind apart from the room furniture is perhaps a bit dated though that didn't bother me.

- Nice room, clean, quite big, high cealing, nice view (room on the canal). Good breakfast. Free visit to the bicyle museum next door: very interesting. Bicycles to rent at a good price.
- Not possible to have annything to eat during the day or in the evening... just wine!

- I really don't like the split beds and single beds which seem to be so common. A few more beer choices at the bar might be nice.

“Good location and nice people”
- Good service and very nice people. We didn't make it for breakfast but left with a cheese sandwich for the road. We also discovered that more money was charged than owed and after one very friendly phone call everything was corrected!
