A 30-minute drive will take you to Assen and the TT circuit, the centre of Groningen, Wildlands Adventure Park Emmen, the monastery in Ter Apel or Westerbork Memorial Centre. The castle garden of Schloss Dankern in Germany is also easy to reach.
